Do I need a skin test?
Laresse is non-animal, non-bacterial and non toxic, so no skin test is required unlike some other leading dermal fillers.
How long does it last?
Laresse is long lasting, but non permanent. Over time Laresse is naturally cleared by your body. The results can last approximately 6 months.
Is it painful?
For some areas a topical anaesthetic cream is applied, which helps with discomfort. For lip augmentation a local anaesthetic is used, similar to that you have at the dentist, this ensures the procedure is pain free. Ice packs are also applied, this also helps the effects of bruising and swelling.
What are the side effects?
The side effects are very rare and are all temporary. The injections can cause a breakout of the herpes virus (cold sores) if you are a carrier, so it is advisable to have some acyclovir cream handy if you do suffer with them. Another small side effect is that about 10 days to 2 weeks post procedure a reaction can potentially occur where the lips swell and become quite tender, if this happens taking an antihistamine tablets resolves the symptoms and problem and it will generally not happen again. Some tenderness post procedure is quite common, taking pain killers help relieve the pain.
Who cannot have dermal fillers?
Those with a history of anaphylactic shock, or severe allergies. pregnant or breast feeding patients.
